What is a gear motor ?
A gear motor is a set of a motor driving a speed reducer. The gearbox plays a central role and functions as a torque and speed converter. Its abilities are determined by its number of gear trains. The reducer has a double function: it reduces the rotational speed of the motor, while transmitting higher torques than an electric motor alone. Depending on the expected loads and the duration of operation, the design of a geared motor differs.
At SIREM, our gearmotors make it possible to offer solutions for gates up to 2 tons:
- For a gate weighing up to 500 kg, our gearmotors are available with a motor power of 75 or 130 watts;
- For a gate weighing 500 to 800 kg, our gearmotors are available with a motor power of 160 watts;
- For a gate weighing 800 to 2,000 kg, our gearmotors are available with a motor power of 560 watts.
